Terms of Service

Article 1 Purpose
These Terms set forth the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between Biobook and users in connection with the website and related services provided by Biobook.
Matters not specified in these Terms are governed by applicable laws of the Republic of Korea, including the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, the Act on the Regulation of Terms and Conditions, the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, and the Personal Information Protection Act, as well as customary practice.
Article 2 Definitions
Service means life science startup information, investor and pharmaceutical company information, search, inquiry, account management, and related functions provided through the Biobook website.
User means a member or non-member who uses the Service under these Terms. Member means a user who provides member information to Biobook and completes registration.
Article 3 Posting and Amendment of Terms
Biobook posts these Terms on the service screen or a linked screen so that users can easily review them.
Biobook may amend these Terms within the scope permitted by applicable law. Amended Terms will be announced with the effective date and reason at least 7 days before the effective date. Changes that are unfavorable or material to users will be announced at least 30 days in advance.
Article 4 Membership Registration
Users apply for membership by entering information in the registration form designated by Biobook and agreeing to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
Biobook may refuse registration or terminate the user agreement afterward if the applicant enters false information, uses another person's information, or if there are operational reasons that make approval difficult.
Article 5 Account Management
Members are responsible for securely managing their account information and password.
Members are responsible for damages caused by negligent management, unauthorized use, or permitting third-party use, unless Biobook is at fault under applicable law.
Article 6 Provision and Changes of Service
Biobook provides life science company information search, company inquiry, member profile management, and other services determined by Biobook.
Biobook may change all or part of the Service for operational or technical reasons and will notify users in advance of material changes.
Article 7 Suspension of Service
Biobook may temporarily suspend the Service due to system maintenance, failures, network issues, natural disasters, or other unavoidable reasons.
Biobook will give prior notice of foreseeable suspension and will notify users without delay after unforeseeable suspension.
Article 8 Obligations of Biobook
Biobook will not engage in acts prohibited by applicable law or these Terms or contrary to public order and morals, and will use reasonable efforts to provide continuous and stable services.
Biobook will maintain security systems to protect users' personal information, publish a Privacy Policy, and comply with it.
If opinions or complaints raised by users in connection with service use are deemed justified, Biobook will process them and notify the user of the process and result.
Article 9 Obligations of Users
Users must provide accurate information when registering or changing information and must not use another person's information.
Users must not interfere with normal service operation, infringe the rights or reputation of Biobook or third parties, or violate applicable law or these Terms.
Article 10 Posted Information and Intellectual Property
Rights to service content, screen composition, databases, trademarks, and logos belong to Biobook or their lawful rights holders.
Users may not reproduce, distribute, transmit, crawl, reprocess, or commercially use service information without Biobook's prior consent, except as permitted by applicable law.
Article 11 Privacy Protection
Biobook protects users' personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act and other applicable laws. Details such as processing purposes and retention periods are set forth in the Privacy Policy.
Article 12 Termination and Use Restrictions
Members may request withdrawal at any time through account management features or procedures designated by Biobook.
Biobook may restrict service use or terminate the user agreement if a user violates these Terms or applicable law.
Article 13 Limitation of Liability
For services provided free of charge, Biobook is not liable for damages suffered by users unless caused by Biobook's willful misconduct or gross negligence.
Biobook has no obligation to intervene in disputes between users or between users and third parties through the Service and is not liable for damages arising from such disputes, except where liability is recognized under applicable law.
Article 14 Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are interpreted under the laws of the Republic of Korea.
If a dispute arises between Biobook and a user, the parties will attempt to resolve it in good faith. If it cannot be resolved by consultation, the dispute will be submitted to the competent court under the Civil Procedure Act.
